Community Advisory Board (CAB)

The CAB brings community voices together to plan the work of PEI. This helps make sure that our work serves the needs of Black mothers and babies and improves their care and health. The CAB includes many kinds of people, such as:

  • parents
  • doulas
  • health providers
  • Public Health staff
  • breastfeeding experts
  • community groups
  • staff from local health plans, and
  • other community leaders

 If equitable birthing care for all Santa Clara County residents is important to you, join our work! To become a CAB member, you must:

  1. work, live, or play in Santa Clara County
  2. come to the meetings, and
  3. support the work to reduce barriers to quality care for Black birthing people.

The CAB meets every other month on the 3rd Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. Most meetings are closed to CAB members only. The July and November meetings are open to anyone in the community. Below is the schedule for 2024:
