County of Santa Clara Public Health Department op-ed urges White House approval of the FDAs rule to ban menthol cigarettes
County of Santa Clara Public Health Department deputy director Rhonda McClinton-Brown co-authored an op-ed urging the Biden Administration to approve rules prohibiting the sale of menthol cigarettes. McClinton-Brown is joined in the op-ed, published in the Mercury News, by Rev. Jethroe Moore II, President of San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP. Titled “Black lives suffer as feds delay menthol cigarette action,” it reflects data that paint a clear picture: this action would save 654,000 lives in the United States within 40 years, including the lives of 255,000 Black folks.
