Public Health Department Statement Regarding Federal Medical Station at the Santa Clara Convention Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The County of Santa Clara’s efforts to address the spread of the novel coronavirus are continuously being evaluated and assessed as the situation continues to evolve. Plans for the Federal Medical Station (FMS) at the City of Santa Clara Convention Center have been adjusted. The FMS will serve less-acute COVID-19 cases and provide increased capacity for our healthcare system. The FMS, managed by the United States Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, is currently under construction and will include beds, supplies, and medicines for up to 250 individuals.

More information on federal medical hospitals can be found at: ftp://ftp.cdc.gov/pub/MCMTraining/FMS/FMS%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf

Individuals and organizations can help slow the spread of the virus by following guidance and recommendations from the Public Health Department. For the most current case and death counts, as well as information about COVID-19, visit our website at sccphd.org/coronavirus
