Women of Wellness (WoW)
The Public Health Department partners with Roots Community Health Center to improve the health of African/African Ancestry women and their babies. A key part of this work is the Women of Wellness (WoW) program. It helps educate, motivate, and support Black women of childbearing age to be healthy and well.
Women of Wellness teaches women how to prepare for a healthy pregnancy and how to stay healthy after birth. Virtual group sessions give WoW clients time to connect, learn and talk about topics like healthy eating, exercise, managing stress, and more.
WoW clients can also sign up for one-on-one sessions with a Maternal Health Navigator to talk about their personal goals and plan how to reach them.
